Laser Treatment

What is Laser Treatment?

Lasers have been used in dental treatments and procedures for years. Lasers are less invasive when compared to traditional dental drills. They don’t produce noise or vibrations, so many of our patients find them to be more comfortable. In some cases, you may not even need anesthetic when lasers are in use.

What Is Laser Treatment

Why would you need Laser Treatment?

We can use laser technology for a range of different dental procedures. For instance, lasers can be used to remove decay from a compromised tooth. We might use lasers to cut down and shape a tooth that needs either a crown or a fixed bridge. Lasers can be used for any procedure that needs to cut away or reshape hard and soft tissue.

Who is a good candidate for Laser Treatment?

Laser treatment is ideal for patients of all ages and varying dental needs. If you avoid the dentist because of the loud noises and vibrations from the drill, it is time to see the difference with laser treatment. Lasers are safe, effective and many won’t even need a local anesthetic because they are painless. We can determine if laser treatment is suitable before beginning the procedure and by performing a complete exam.

What can you expect during Laser Treatment?

Laser treatment often does not involve anesthetic. We will use a high-powered laser to cut away hard or soft tissue as needed. The laser will be used completely in place of the dental drill. You will experience no sounds or vibrations coming from the laser itself. The procedure is done normally after the laser has been used. For our pediatric patients, using a laser eliminates the fear when your children come into the office. For patients who have a fear or anxiety over the dental drill, you will find that your visit with us is a lot more comfortable than it’s ever been before.
