Porcelain Veneers
What are Porcelain Veneers?
Veneers are thin shells of porcelain that can be applied to the front of your smile. They can cover flaws and other imperfections that might be causing you to feel badly about the way that you look. Despite how thin and delicate they are, veneers are durable and can last for about 10 years before they should be replaced. Veneers are a great way to completely transform your appearance and turn back the hands of time.
Why would Porcelain Veneers be needed?
The reason you might need or want veneers is because your teeth are cracked, chipped, discolored, unevenly spaced or stained. You might be looking for a way to improve the shape or size of your teeth as well. Veneers can be placed at any time and for any reason. It’s not uncommon for our patients to need or want veneers before a big event or whenever you’re looking to boost your confidence.
Who is a candidate for Porcelain Veneers?
Most patients who either need or want veneers can safely come in to have the procedure done. We can examine your front teeth to determine if and when you might benefit from veneers. The procedure is often done in two appointments, so it is important that you have time to come in for these visits. Your front teeth should be otherwise healthy enough to have implants added to them.
What happens during the procedure for Porcelain Veneers?
The procedure for veneers will begin by preparing the front teeth to receive the veneers. This is done by filing and buffing the front teeth slightly. We then take impressions so that we can make the permanent veneers for you. You will then come in for a second appointment so that we can place the permanent veneers. You will be amazed at just how different your smile looks thanks to the power and beauty of porcelain veneers.
